The short version

Your rounds live on your phone and in your personal iCloud. Nothing leaves your device unless you share a scorecard — and when you do, what's published is player names and scores, behind a password you control. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking of any kind.

On your device and in your iCloud

Rounds, scores, saved players (names, handicaps, and any phone number or email you add to a player), and app settings are stored on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, they sync through your private iCloud database so your own devices stay in step. That data is between you and Apple — Graywing Labs has no server that can see it and no access to it.

Sharing a scorecard

When you turn on live sharing or publish final results, the app sends player names and scores for that round to our scorecard service (cutfade.graywinglabs.com) so the page you share can show them. Two things to know:

• Shared pages are protected by the round's password (shown in the app). Viewers need both the link and the password. Rounds shared before passwords existed remain viewable by link alone.
• A shared round stays up until you remove it. Stop Sharing during a round, or deleting a round and choosing to remove it everywhere, deletes it from our servers — the page and the stored result are gone, not hidden.

You're the one publishing your group's names when you share, so make sure they're okay with that. Phone numbers, emails, and handicaps are never part of any shared page or sent to our servers — see below.

Contact info stays on your phone

If you add a phone number or email to a saved player (typed in or picked from Contacts), it's used for exactly one thing: prefilling a text or email on your phone when you share a link. It is never uploaded to our servers and never appears on a shared page.

Location

If you allow location access, it's used to find golf courses near you and to run the on-course rangefinder. Your approximate coordinates may accompany a course-search request to our course service so results can be found near you; they aren't saved. The rangefinder does its distance math on your phone — your position during a round is never transmitted.

What we don't do

No accounts. No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. No ads. No selling or sharing data with anyone. The app talks to exactly two services, both ours: the course database (scorecards, yardages, green locations) and the shared-scorecard service described above.

Deleting your data

On-device and iCloud data: delete rounds or players in the app, or delete the app. Shared scorecards: delete the round in the app and choose to remove it everywhere, or email us the link and we'll delete it for you.
